Rees Barrett
Board Member and Mentor

Over half a century working in school education presented me with many inspiring learning opportunities and experiences – so much so that I am determined to give back through ‘ground-up’ community based initiatives such as the Achievers Club of Western Australia.

Four years as a volunteer mentor at Achievers Club has taught me many things. Above all is the realization that valuing other people and believing in our younger generations by consistently ‘turning up’ is the greatest gift of all.

I’m honoured to serve on the Achievers Club Board and contribute to its growth and development.

My grandchildren (L to R) Isla, Nyomi, Anna, Tess and John inspire me. Here we are at the Fremantle Maritime Museum, several years ago.

The Achievers Club WA acknowledges the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work on today. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders past and present and to extend that respect to all First Australians.
